How to delete an advertisement on Rightgun.uk

Rightgun.uk allows you to remove advertisements when they are no longer required. However, in many cases, disabling or marking an advert as sold is recommended instead of permanently deleting it, as deletion removes all stored data.


Steps to delete an advertisement

For gun advertisements

  1. Log in to your Rightgun.uk dashboard.

  2. Go to your Armoury.

  3. Select and edit the gun advertisement you want to remove.

  4. Click Manage → Delete.


Important: For gun listings, we strongly recommend using Mark as Sold instead of deleting the advertisement. Deleting a gun advert permanently removes all related data from your RFD Register, meaning you will not be able to access historical records in the future.


For equipment, ammunition, and shooting day advertisements

  1. Log in to your Rightgun.uk dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the relevant section:

    • Equipment

    • Ammunition

    • Shooting

  3. Edit the advertisement you wish to remove.

  4. Click +Action → Delete.


Recommended alternative: Disable live advertisements

Instead of deleting an advertisement entirely, Rightgun.uk recommends disabling the live advert:

  • All listing information remains safely stored

  • Data can be reused or reactivated in the future

  • No loss of historical or operational records


Disabling an advert is ideal for temporarily unavailable stock or seasonal listings.


Best practice guidance

  • Use Mark as Sold for completed gun sales

  • Disable adverts for temporary stock changes

  • Delete listings only when the information is no longer needed
