Guided Deer Stalking in Somerset and the South West
Marshall's Deer Services offers guided deer stalking across quality private ground in Somerset and the wider South West. Whether this is your first ever outing or your hundredth, you are taken out one-to-one by an experienced professional guide who knows the ground, the deer on it, and how to put you in front of the right animal.
We run stalks for people who want to fill the freezer, people chasing a representative trophy, and people who simply want to learn to stalk properly under supervision. Packages are built around your budget and your experience, not the other way round.
No firearms certificate? You can still stalk.
Newcomers can shoot using one of our rifles under the direct supervision of your guide, so you do not need your own certificate to book a first outing. This is a genuine, legal route into the sport and the single most common way our clients take their first deer.
What makes a day with us different
- One-to-one guiding as standard. You are not sharing a high seat with three other guests.
- Varied ground. Rolling hills, wooded valleys and the open flats of the Somerset Levels, so we can move to suit the wind, the weather and the time of
year. - Established high seats on the productive ground, plus stalking on foot for those who want to work for it.
- Safe, ethical, professional. Every client shoots a zeroing and safety check before we go out. No exceptions.
- Beginners genuinely welcome. We teach shot placement, deer recognition, larder work and the law as we go.
Who books with us
- Complete beginners who have never shot a deer and want to be taught properly.
- Certificate holders without permission of their own who want regular, reliable stalking.
- DSC Level 1 holders who need accompanied outings and witnessed cull records.
- Travelling guests and small groups coming to the West Country for a few days on roe bucks or does.
- Shooters wanting a specific trophy or a management animal at a fair price.
